Job Title: Electrician

Job Description

This role focuses on supporting electrical construction projects at a secure military installation, with an emphasis on installing galvanized rigid, PVC-coated rigid, and aluminum rigid conduit in an industrial environment. You will apply your experience in wiring, troubleshooting, and blueprint reading to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install galvanized rigid, PVC-coated rigid, and aluminum rigid conduit according to project specifications and applicable codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to plan and execute installations accurately.
• Pull wire and complete wiring tasks for industrial electrical systems, ensuring neat, organized, and code-compliant work.
• Perform conduit bending and routing to support clean, efficient, and safe electrical layouts.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues in an industrial setting and assist in resolving problems promptly and safely.
• Follow all site-specific security and access requirements, including obtaining and using required badges and identification.
• Work collaboratively with the onsite team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician, primarily in industrial or construction environments.
• Proficiency in installing galvanized rigid, PVC-coated rigid, and aluminum rigid conduit.
• Strong ability to perform conduit bending using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Experience pulling wire and completing industrial wiring tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills for industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required site badging for a secure military installation.
• Possession of a Real ID that meets federal identification requirements.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Electrical license is preferred.
• Industrial electrical experience is a strong plus.
• Construction environment experience is beneficial.
• Familiarity with secure facility protocols and access control procedures is helpful.

Work Environment

This role is based at a secure military installation and involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. The work is performed in an active construction and industrial setting with heavy equipment, materials, and ongoing site activity. You will use standard electrical tools and equipment for conduit installation, wiring, and troubleshooting. Site access requires proper badging and a Real ID, and you must follow all safety rules, security protocols, and dress in appropriate workwear suitable for construction and outdoor conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffolk, VA.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Suffolk,VA.
