Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum 3 years at a level I or II hospital License: CRCST or CSPDT required Certifications: IAHCSMM/HSPA, CRCST, CSPDT Must-Have: No first-time travelers; must have trackable work history. No cancellations in work history. Description: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract for this position, you accept the expectation to report as assigned by your immediate unit manager in case of an emergency event. Please ensure you are comfortable with the requirements before applying. Additional checklist required - please attach with submission. Ensure you are aware of housing costs in the area before submitting. Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience in sterile processing. Experience with sterilizers, Sterrad machines, and ultrasonic systems required. For interviewing purposes, be prepared to discuss: 1. The type of instrument tracking system you are familiar with. 2. The three-sink method in decontamination. 3. The loaner/vendor process. 4. The three key parameters you monitor on the sterilization printout to determine instrument sterility. 5. What teamwork means to you. 6. How you check for instrument functionality. 7. Your familiarity with robotic instruments and cleaning procedures. Flexible to work with different types of surgical instruments and settings. Ensure compliance with all local and state licensing requirements prior to submission. References from two managers or supervisors will be required to obtain clearance to start.
